Welcome, @radagaisus! Love the branding. Reminds me, I want to get a cartoon superhero Ryan one of these days, maybe through ArtCorgi (cc @SimoneHCollins).
How are you educating users of your product to make sure they don't shoot themselves in the foot? There's a backlash against "gamification" because it's often misused and misunderstood without a true understanding of what motivates people.

This looks awesome. We've been thinking about doing something like this to move developers through the onboarding process at http://snow.sh - are there any developer-facing platforms (other than your own) currently using your system? Can you share any stats on impact on conversion rates for such sites?

@rrhoover great question.
1. We're working on a new onboarding wizard that guides you through setting up the right experience for your app. It follows the same process that we do with our enterprise customers: First we get some basic information on your audience and vertical, then we try to narrow it down do the right actions and interactions - what makes your users tick - and finally we suggest the right tools and mechanics that will help you achieve that. For some segments, a reward system will be spot on; for others, it can deter users from their true motivations.
2. Captain Up is not a silver bullet. Your core product needs to be fun and useful for people, and we can only give advice on how to do that. On sites and apps that nailed their core experience we're seeing terrific results (order of magnitude improvements). On apps that don't have their core mechanics sorted, not so much.
Looks good. I saw it in several sites and I think it's an interesting idea. Try to come back to the site after a few minutes to see it in action :)

Hi @benln, thanks for submitting us! We're great fans of the community here, and would love to hear your feedback and answer any questions.
In short: Captain Up is an Engagement platform as a Service for web and mobile apps. We use game mechanics, behavioral psychology research and machine learning algorithms to help you incentivize and interact with your users, increasing your users lifetime value and KPIs.

@CCMoberg thanks! Usually we're seeing that 2%-20% of the users interact deeply with the system. Depending on the site or app sometimes we see a 2x increase in actions and other times 10x. So it really depends on what you're trying to do and how much the actions you care about align with the actions your users care about.
Specifically for improving your onboarding process, we recommend working directly against our API - https://captainup.com/help/api/r... - to not confuse the user with another piece of UI. Once the user finished setting up the system, and the task at hand is engagement and retention, it's best to introduce our UI layer as well.
Email me at almog@captainup.com if you have any questions. I think developers can do really cool things mashing up our platforms (collectibles, loyalty programs).
