👋 Hi Product Hunt! I'm excited to share CaptureNest, a privacy-first Chrome extension that captures full-page screenshots with a single click. The idea came from a simple frustration: most screenshot extensions were either slow, relied on external servers, required unnecessary permissions, or lacked features I wanted for everyday use. I wanted a tool that was fast, reliable, and truly respected user privacy. CaptureNest processes everything locally inside your browser. From capturing and stitching long webpages to exporting PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF files, every step happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded to external servers, and no account is required. One feature I'm especially proud of is Smart Cleanup. Before taking a screenshot, it temporarily hides cookie banners, chat widgets, and other distracting overlays using local DOM analysis. Everything is restored immediately after capture, with no AI services or external APIs involved. Building CaptureNest was also a journey through Chrome's Manifest V3 ecosystem. I spent a lot of time removing every piece of remotely hosted code, redesigning parts of the extension, and making sure it fully complies with Chrome Web Store policies while keeping performance high. This is just the beginning. I already have ideas for scrolling improvements, annotation tools, cloud sync (optional and privacy-friendly), and many more quality-of-life features.
