@julianlepinski Did you think about integrating these external solutions to yours? Not sure it's possible technically but it could be awesome to get analytics from your favorite host :)
@_yannbertrand Right now Cast does some pretty neat stats for you if you host with us, but we're absolutely considering a bunch of integrations and trying to figure out what makes the most sense.
@hadifarnoud Cast caches your audio data locally in chunks until it's able to confirm that each one has been uploaded successfully. In the event that your internet connection goes down and never comes back, Cast will eventually prompt you to download a copy of your unsaved data locally, which we can help you reassemble with your uploaded data.
Sounds good, I think there is going to be great demand for this. One question that comes to mind is - is it easy to push the podcast to itunes from within the tool once recorded?
@leveragehacker Hey Nathan – right now you'll need to create an RSS feed externally and submit that to iTunes. We're working on a *much* better solution right now, which we'll be ready to show off pretty soon. If you want to know about upcoming stuff like that, we've got an infrequent email newsletter you can sign up for at http://tinyletter.com/Cast
I've played around with it a bit – takes care of a lot of the hurdles to starting your own podcast, so hopefully it'll open the gate for some more non-technical podcasters as well!
@adrianthomas Thanks! That's our thinking too. So far the majority of our testers have been technical, like us, but we've tried to build Cast to appeal to people who don't want to learn about bitrates and hosting and dynamic compression – anybody with something to say.
I've been waiting for something like this to turn up...really takes the pain out of it, especially for guests! Just playing with the trial and there's one immediate thing I'd love to see: manual controls for compression and EQ in the editor. I know it's supposed to be a simple solution, and I don't expect to be able to use all my plugins, but having control over the compression settings and access to a basic EQ for each layer seems like a necessary addition. One size does not fit all, especially for compression.
@mostlymarius Thanks for the feedback. We're really trying to strike a balance here with something that's powerful enough for the people who need it, while being straightforward enough to use for the people who don't want to dig deep into the options. This felt like a good compromise for now, but we're going to continue tweaking that stuff and exposing those options where we feel like it makes sense.

This is perfect. I've been going back and forth with the idea of starting a podcast with a close friend of mine for a while now. Been waiting for something like this that really doesn't give me any other option but to do so! Hahah best of luck!
