Opening WhatsApp seeing hundreds of thousands of messages in a group. Reading itmuch more difficult and wastes a lot of time, but you still want to know what happen. would love if you could pin a catch-up summary at the top of the chat itself, maybe like a small banner that updates when new catch-ups run, so i don't have to open the app separately just to see what i missed

Unfortunately, WhatsApp’s API and strict UI constraints don't allow third-party apps to add custom banners or programmatically pin headers inside group chats.
That's actually why we built CatchMeUp as a separate platform so we could get summaries without hitting those platform limitations.

this looks genuinely useful, especially for those chaotic family and work groups. one thing that would make it a lot better is letting it auto detect the unread messages since you last opened the chat, instead of picking a time range manually every time. basically just open whatsapp, see the badge, and tap catch me up for everything new. would save the extra step and honestly feel way more seamless in daily use.

I'm looking into ways to make the time-range selection automatic or smart-suggested based on your last catch-up with handling WhatsApp message privacy and API permissions. Thankyou for the awesome suggestion!
Saved me from scrolling through a 900-message family group chat on a Sunday morning, the summary actually nailed who said what about dinner plans. Would love a way to pin the catch-up so it doesn't get buried in my own messages.
