Our leading competitor (Honey) publishes on their website that they save users an average of $16 per transaction. Our Alpha and Beta users have been saving a little over $30 which is DOUBLE the savings that Honey finds you. How did we do this? Read on to find out... (suspense!) Hey! I'm Rory, the other co-founder of Checkmate. We had one goal while building this product - make a huge breakthrough next-generation style version of all those identical savings extensions online. We wanted to: 1 - Save users way more than our competitors (I mean, that's the whole point right!) 2 - Be less annoying (no constant pop ups bugging you with analytics/stats) To do this, we took a whole new approach: We noticed the largest savings were no longer floating around online, they were instead in your inbox, being emailed to you from stores as one time use codes. We worked hard to partner with the cloud teams at Google and Microsoft to be able to pull your own personalized codes from the promotions tab in your inbox and apply them as you checkout. We've had beta users sign up and instantly see 10 deals in their dashboard they had no idea they had! These are deals that no other savings engine can bring for you because they don't take this personalized approach - and this approach is exactly where the market is heading! Our public coupon finding engine also blows our competitors out of the water and it's not even close, we find on average 3x more coupons per site than our competitors. We also have built one of the first and only discounted gift card finding engines. We pair you with verified discounted gift cards from all corners of the internet that you can buy then and there directly through the extension, and we even help remind you when you have gift cards lying around the house and alert you at checkout that you should use them. We believe hard in everything we've built and we are patent-pending on every aspect of the personalized approach to make sure we can continue to bring you higher savings than any other extension on the market for years to come. Hey Product Hunters! Thanks, @ettinger for hunting us! I am Harry, the co-founder of Checkmate. We are really excited to release the beta version of Checkmate and have you test the product and provide feedback! As a bit of background on why we built Checkmate: Like most people, who were bored and stuck in quarantine, we were confined to searching the internet for the next thing to buy online to pass the time. As we continued to shop we realized the existing browser extensions that used to save us a tonne of money weren’t saving us as much as they previously had. This lead us to a year-long obsession with savings. We found out that most brands had moved those lucrative savings deals into your email inbox (promotions tab). We never thought to check the promotions tab nor wanted to dig around to find a saving that may or may not exist. That is when we thought we could build something better (save us more) than what existed, so along came; Checkmate. We spent a year going through security audits with Google and Microsoft to securely find the coupons living in your email promotions tab to pull them out and combine them with coupons we found on the web to automatically apply them at checkout (via a browser extension) to save you the most money. We added some other cool features as well such as the ability to store gift cards and be reminded at checkout to use them. We are supported at ~600 stores across the US and Australia. No idea how this thing works but it sure as hell does. Seriously, I just saved close to $100 dollars on an $160 checkout! Wtf, that is insane. Props to you guys, will make sure I have this turned on for all my xmas shopping :)
