I love how Cheffie simplifies personalized eating @dltn but it would be great if there were more detailed nutritional breakdowns per meal. Sometimes people want to dive deeper into macros.
@oscar_oscar3 Hey Oscar! What parts of the nutritional breakdown would you want to see? For recipes, Cheffie currently displays full nutrition facts and even segments out the different types of carbohydrates, along with major micronutrient breakdowns such as common vitamins and mineral content.
Congratulations on your launch! How does Cheffie differ from other similar apps? It seems that these types of apps all support customized personalized plans. I’d love to hear more of your thoughts. :)
@defatom Thanks, Max! This is a fantastic question — here are some key differences:
- Cheffie is intended to help people struggling with food due to allergies, chronic health conditions (such as PCOS, IBS, nutrient deficiencies, and metabolic syndrome), or unhelpful emotional eating patterns (which could revolve around overeating or undereating). It is not intended to be another "cute AI tool", but rather to educate people on how to free themselves from being controlled by or limited by food.
- Restaurant menu analysis: The number one source of people's struggles with food are centered around dining out. Cheffie enables the user to analyze restaurant menus for guided advice on which dishes will suit them and even what to say to the server when modifying a dish. They can even take a photo of the menu and get advice in real time!
- Evidence-based nutrition philosophies: Most recipe apps and food blogs are not very nutrition-focused — you can tell that they are more generic and intended to appeal to the average person. Cheffie's recipes can adhere to any nutrition plan or medical diet — it's a custom model that has been trained on culinary arts techniques and metabolic science, so you will find more innovative ingredient substitutions than other products.
- Comprehensive diet and nutrition settings: Other products allow only a finite set of diet or allergy presets. Cheffie is designed to allow the user to combine multiple diet philosophies (for example, combining Keto, Vegetarian, Anti-Inflammatory, and High-Magnesium), along with fine-tuning custom macros on a per-meal and per-day basis, which I have not seen as a feature anywhere else.
- Community feed: All recipes go into a community feed where users can discover recipes that inspire them and then instantly re-process it according to their personal preferences. There's even a "For You" page which uses a TikTok-style algorithm to recommend recipes according to the user's engagement/behavior in the app.
I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Congrats @dltn ! Cheffie looks like a thoughtful and practical tool for making healthy eating easier and more personalized. Excited to see how it helps people on their food journeys!
Hey Dalton! 🤩 I'm really excited about Cheffie’s ability to analyze local restaurant menus! It’s such a game-changer for anyone trying to eat healthier while dining out. Can't wait to see how it helps me navigate my favorite spots! 🍽️
Applications like this that focus on personalization are always ahead of others. The design could be more eye catching. I hope it can get to a much better point soon, because it has potential. Congrats on your launch!
@aepasahan Thanks so much for your feedback! Which part of the design would you say needs improvement? The more fleshed out UI is on the iOS app where I went wild with gradients and blurs 😂. The web version will eventually be updated to match. Cheers!
