Hi PH, We (Rashmi and Ajay - Co-founders of CipherSonic AI) built CipherChat after seeing a major disconnect: companies want to use AI, but they’re forced to expose sensitive data in plaintext to cloud providers. As researchers in encrypted computation and AI systems, we kept hearing the same concern from CISOs — “We need AI, but we can’t risk data leakage.” That tension inspired us to rethink the architecture from the ground up. The core problem we’re solving is simple but critical: how can organizations use powerful AI without exposing confidential data during processing? Traditional guardrails, access controls, and policies don’t solve the underlying issue — data is still visible somewhere in the stack. CipherChat is built on our Encrypted AI Cloud and introduces: 🔐 End-to-end encrypted AI processing 🛡 Zero-trust architecture (infrastructure operators can’t access content) 🚫 Reduced plaintext exposure in logs and backend systems 🏥 Enterprise-ready security for regulated industries ⚡ A fast, modern chatbot experience without security trade-offs Our approach evolved from purely research-driven cryptography to a balanced product mindset — combining strong encryption with usability and performance. @pavankumarsahu Great point, Pavan! You're right - “no AI” isn’t really a sustainable strategy anymore. Latency is definitely one of the biggest challenges in encrypted AI systems. A lot of our work has focused on optimizing the architecture so we can reduce exposure risks while still delivering a responsive chatbot experience.
