Very neat concept. I was under the impression sharks were always around us when swimming in the ocean, and that shark attacks were just infrequent. If so, that would be a lot of alarms going off lol

I think it's based on the distance one covers from shore; surfers go in way deeper than the recreative swimmers. A buoy can then be strategically located.
Coming from a french tropical island where there's a lot of sharks (and unfortunately many people killed over the last few years) it sounds like a great idea.
That said I would like to know how accurate and reliable it is. Since there are human lives at stake it must be a pretty hard business (and you have to sell it to public organizations, not the easiest customers).
