Turn code snippets into short videos for social feeds. Pick a theme, an animation, and a real keyboard sound, then render an MP4 ready for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, or LinkedIn. No editor, no After Effects, no manual screen recording.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
A few months ago I tried posting a TypeScript trick on TikTok. Wrote the code in 30 seconds. Then spent two hours fighting CapCut to make it look readable. Screen recording looked like garbage at 9:16. Font too small. Syntax highlighting flat. Background distracting. By the time I uploaded it, the energy was gone and the video looked nothing like the clean code-on-dark-background videos I kept scrolling past.
I figured someone must've built a tool for this. The options I found were either Twitter-screenshot generators (static, not video), Carbon-style image makers (also static), or full motion graphics suites where I'd need to learn keyframes just to animate a single function. Nothing in the middle. Nothing that just said "paste code, get a short video, done."
So I built it. code2clip is that middle. Paste a snippet, pick a theme, hit render. Ten seconds later you have an MP4 sized for whatever platform you post on. Typing animation, mechanical keyboard sounds, the whole vibe. The kind of clip you scroll past and save without thinking.
What I'd love your take on:
- What's missing? I'm sure there's a theme or animation style I haven't thought of.
- Would you actually post code content if making the video took 10 seconds instead of 2 hours?
- What platform am I sleeping on?
I'll be in the comments all day. Roast it, break it, tell me what you'd want.
