An AI agent that helps you migrate your existing Protractor or Selenium tests to Playwright, and lets you write new tests using plain English. Local-first, secure, and free from long-term lock-ins just install, pay as you go, convert tests, and move on.

A massive shout-out to the Codien team! @abid_mohammed @sonanshu @amit_kade1 . They've brilliantly solved the long-standing problem of migrating from legacy testing frameworks like Protractor and Selenium. The seamless transition to Playwright, real-time test validation, and the incredible ability to write new tests from plain English make Codien a total game-changer. This tool is set to be invaluable for test managers, engineers, and leads who want to modernize their testing practices without the usual pain of extensive rewrites or prolonged migration cycles. Eager to follow its progress
@sonanshu @amit_kade1 @hardiksharmmaaaa thanks a lot. We are firm believer in the promise of AI but we also believe that AI should almost be invisible to the user. You have a job to get done and the tools/solutions we build should just enable that. No more, no less. Thanks for the kind words and we are hoping to learn from the community as they use it and continue to improve it. we already have more items in the roadmap that we believe could be useful for the community.
Hello Everyone,
Big day for us — we just launched Codien on Product Hunt!
As the Product Manager for Codien, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with an incredible team of engineers and designers who poured their hearts into solving a real developer pain: migrating from Selenium and Protractor to Playwright.
Codien isn’t just about automation. It’s about giving teams back their time, making migrations stress-free, and transforming test writing into something that’s not just reliable—but surprisingly enjoyable.
Watching Codien intelligently convert legacy tests with live validation, or turn plain English into Playwright code, has been one of the most satisfying parts of this journey.
Huge thanks to the amazing team behind this. Building Codien has been a true team sport, and I couldn't be prouder of what we've created together.
If you're a developer or tester tired of migration pain, give Codien a spin—we’d love your feedback and support!
— Amit Kade, Product Manager at Cognida.ai
Just signed up after reading the product breakdown—Codien is seriously promising!
AI is everywhere, but few tools use it meaningfully. Codien looks like it delivers actual value with smart test generation + secure test tracking. Already thinking of recommending it to a few teams I consult with.
@sonanshu Keep going 💪
@vedant_gholap Thanks a lot. That is very encouraging. Looking forward to your feedback as your team uses it. Feel free to reach out any time and we will be more than happy to jump on an call and give you a walkthrough.
Super excited about Codien!
The product site is clean and clearly showcases the capabilities—AI + automation is a killer combo when done right, and this looks like a well-thought-out tool. I’m planning to test it on a staging project this weekend. Wishing the team big success!
@sonanshu all the best!
@yogita_plass That sounds great, would love to hear more about how did your weekend go.
Wow! Codien is exactly what the testing community needed. Migration to Playwright has been a pain point — love how this makes it seamless!
@sonanshu congrats on the launch!
@hitesh_mourya Thanks Hitesh, Codien has been designed to cater to this exact pain point. We felt there was a gap in the market, something where we could bring in our expertise and create something that helps solve a real problem. Would love to hear more once you use it.
Just tried Codien — the real-time conversion & validation is magical. Huge time-saver for any QA or dev team
@sonanshu you have always set the bar high!
@ayesha_siddiqui2 Thank you Ayesha, thats reaaly kind of you. Tean Codien will strive to keep setting new bench marks :)
The fact that Codien works fully offline while doing smart migration is an absolute win for security-conscious teams. Hats off, team Cognida!
@sonanshu the vision is crystal clear!
@sumit_aman Hi Sumit, Codien is based on local first approach. Codien runs locally on your machine and processes your files on-device as much as possible. However, to accurately understand and modernize legacy test logic, we use AI models provided by OpenAI deployed in our Azure tenant. When needed, small, relevant portions of your test code (never full projects) are securely sent to OpenAI's API for processing. This is done solely to analyze logic patterns and generate modernized equivalents — we never store, sell, or use your code for training. We are also actively working on integrating fully local models for users who prefer to keep all processing offline.
