Try finding that online. So I started building. A week later she passed HFM to her little brother, restarting the clock. I kept building. Cue five months of feature creep, adding photo & typography modes, 14 art styles, 10 typography styles, 3,400 hand-curated pages. One dad, no funding, quarantine energy.

I spent 20 years as a touring DJ. Then I became a stay-at-home dad. Neither of those prepared me for the cat with five paws.
The description covers the quarantine origin story. What it doesn't cover is the part where I asked a major AI coloring page site to create a 'cat chasing a mouse.' Simple right? Their AI, trusted by millions of users, tried to generate my daughter a cat with five paws. A little horror kicked in, but Dunning-Kruger kicked in harder. 'I can do better than this,' I scoffed, as the cat pranced into my nightmares.
I didn't know what feature creep was. I learned the term about three months after we were already deep in it. One generation mode became three. One art style became fourteen. I added a typography engine because my daughter wanted her name on everything. Then her brother wanted his name. Then I added ten typography styles because apparently I hate sleeping.
I planned this project into the ground at least twice. Built spreadsheets no one will ever see. Rewrote the same 'director's cut' system prompt so many times I lost count. There was a two-week stretch where the only thing keeping me going was my daughter asking "is the coloring site working yet" every morning.
It's working now. I'm one person, I built this with AI tools, and I have no idea if anyone outside my house will care about it. But my kids use it every week, their friends ask for the link, and I figured the only way to find out is to ship it.
