Congrats to your launch, @tobias_eichenwald & team Senic! I love the Kickstarter campaign. Can you tell me more about how COVI could integrate into industrial systems like Savant/KNX? Thanks!
@susannne Hi Susanne! Thanks :) Yes. My family has been building traditional building automation systems based on systems like KNX for 30 years. They very reliable but there are also a number of problems. It's not uncommon that after a few years, the home owner realizes that he would like to add a sensor but cannot pull a new cable. Or they want to extend their system with consumer products like Sonos. With our system, we want to build that bridge into the consumer world and wireless devices.

Love the look and the general idea. Also love that you are using existing open source hub software with a strong community. Is it possible to have multiple devices and for you to do all tasks through all devices? Can you add a new Covi as a slave device?
Hey guys!
We're really excited to launch our second product Covi!
Covi is a smart lamp from sand blasted glass with an aluminum base.
We integrated microphones and a speaker so you can connect to speech services like Alexa.
At the core, we've integrated a open source based smart home hub so you can automatically trigger your Sonos and the lamp as an alarm clock in the morning for example.
We've tried to find the right balance between design and technology and wanted to create the first true smart furniture piece. We've also shared a lot about the manufacturing process if you're interested.
Would be awesome to get your support!!
Thanks so much!! Tobias

@tobias_eichenwald I've seen the production schedule on Kick-starter and it looks achievable, so i'm rooting for you guys. What's the plan after kickstarter?
@silas_ade After Kickstarter, we're going through 3 different production runs with our manufacturing partners, all in different batch sizes. The first pre-series will just be a handful of devices to make sure the production techniques all work at scale. The next batch will be a few hundred devices in which we test all last details. After that we move into mass manufacturing. Do you use any other smart home devices?
@ecohen16 Thanks Evan :)
We're using cold temperature LEDs (3000K) and warm temperature LEDs (5000K) inside of Covi. Colder light helps you to focus more while warm light helps you to relax. We also have 4 RGB LEDs inside but mostly use this to add some extra red which makes the light even warmer.
We might open up the other colors but we want to make sure we can offer the best experience and are waiting on feedback from people if they really care about it. If you have ideas on what to use colors for, I would love to hear. Thanks so much for the support!! :)
