Cryptoculus is intended for users who want to keep an eye on their favorite crypto-currency rates right on the home-screen of their android device. It is completely free and without any ads.

Currently, there are 1948 crypto-currencies supported by this app, returning their prices in 123 real-currencies (including gold!) but you have to choose one real-currency at a time. Beware that not all the crypto-currency rates may be available in your local currency. You may choose an arbitrary number of crypto-currencies for syncing, but there is a limitation from the data provider to keep the total length of characters of all crypto-currency code values up to 100, including the delimiter comma characters. Note that the crypto-currency codes vary in length, while most of them are 3 characters long. For the questions like "Why is Japanese Yen not rounded to the nearest whole number?" or related to incorrect/invalid rates, please address them to the data provider mentioned in the above paragraph. The only adjustment made is the rounding of the values up to 2 decimal digits.

The data sync is taking place in the background, with your preferred rate chosen from the set of predefined values. It is recommended to use low-rate frequencies to avoid polluting the network and saving your device battery. The updates are relying on Android Sync-Adapter Framework which applies its own optimized algorithms for syncing and battery saving, therefore update delays may vary.

The widget's user-interface is customizable to match your device home-screen background, your taste and mood. You can change the text font, size, color, background, swap the glowing color of the text, and change the sorting order of the list. To resize the widget area, simply long-touch on it and move the border control-points. You may have several instances of this widget on your home-screen, but if there is no instance then the network requests will not take place until you create one.
