Cthulhu is a Chaos Testing tool that helps evaluating the resiliency of microservice systems. It does so by simulating various disaster scenarios against a target infrastructure, potentially made of a mix of cloud providers (Kubernetes, GCP AWS).

I built this software as part of xMatters' transition to Google Cloud. We use a mix of Kubernetes deployments and plain VMs and needed to verify the resilience of our infrastructure.

I love the idea, but I cannot come to terms with the name. Where does it come from?

@bkolics It's from the H.P. Lovecraft novel, "The Call of Cthulhu", which is a story of a sea monster that causes chaos and destruction wherever it goes. It's quite an apt name given what the tool does.
