Create networking programs that run on autopilot. Run speed networking between peers or connect mentors with mentees - all in minutes for $29/month. Like Donut but with more thoughtful matching.
Hey friends,
I'm a community consultant turned indie hacker. I've been professionally building online communities since the last 4 years. One of the key things I've learnt about community building is that communities are built on connections.
That's why last year, when working for a client, I had the brilliant idea to create latent connections between my community's members by introducing them to each other for 1-on-1 chats based on common goals and backgrounds.
But I was unable to find a tool that we could use to automate this process. Everything I found was either too clunky, too feature-poor, or too wallet-emptying.
That's when I decided to do something about it and build something to scratch my own itch. That's the origin story of Curated Connections.
Today, I am proud that to launch it because it it offers everything that I found lacking when I was shopping for tools:
• An intuitive UI
• Simple but customisable matching algorithm
• A robust Slack integration
• A login-free experience for your members
• Unlimited users for an easy-to-justify price of $29/month
And this last bit was important for me because if you look at the competitors, all of them charge between 2x to 100x more for a limited number of users. Thus making them inaccessible for bootstrapped startups and indie hackers.
Curated Connections has been in a public beta for the last 6 months during which a handful of early customers have taken it for a spin and received great feedback from their communities. Who are these early customers?
• Entrepreneurs building paid membership communities
• Community Managers running communities for companies
• Conference Organisers connecting their conference attendees
That's why, I am confident that if you run a membership community it will help you create more value for your members too.
In terms of tech stack, it is:
• hosted on Render
• built using the latest Ruby on Rails stack including Hotwire, along with TailwindCSS
• written using a lot of help from ChatGPT
This is my first time building a SaaS product as an indie hacker. I built it to scratch my own itch and hope that it helps other community builders like me. Do check it out and give me your valuable feedback.
@nityeshaga сongratulations on the launch! I really like the idea, especially coming from you, transitioning from business to a concrete solution. Best of luck with the product's development!

We're using CC with one of my clients and we're loving it! Well done Nityesh!
Especially love the new mentor-mentee matching feature (sadly haven't had a chance to try yet)
@ecekurtaraner Thanks a lot for the kind words! Love the creativity you've shown in setting up your CC program.

Wow! This is so great, and so excited, I've been waiting for so long to know anything about or how to create connection between community members. Thanks for this boss

I'm lucky to be in a handful of communities that leverage Curated Connections. I have seen how fantastic it is to connect community members in a far more logical way to drive productive conversation than anything else on the market.
It's also wild to have known @nityeshaga personally for a few years now and watch this journey evolve. Can't wait to see where it goes!
@adam_barney Thank you so much for the support all along Adam! It remarkable to have someone like you on the side. 🙌🏽

Congratulations on the accidental launch @nityeshaga :)
The product is amazing for helping enable meaningful connections in a community versus the old-school random matchmatching!

We've just launched Curated Connections into the community and we're so excited! We have a fairly large slack community so this is just what we've been longer for to allow members to make more meaningful connections.
Congratulations Nityesh on a great product !!
@nityeshaga I love this concept! Having been a part of and moderated several communities, I can attest to the need your idea addresses. We've recently launched a new private community that's free to join, but incorporating Curated Connections could be a valuable addition down the line. We're still in the early stages, having just hosted our first in-person event. I understand and appreciate your approach. Congratulations on your launch, and best of luck!
