Dandi is a social-video app for anyone to interact meaningfully with local nonprofits. Unlock rewards by supporting trusted grassroots providing essential services like food, shelter, masks, therapy, etc. to your communities.
Hi.
I’m excited to share Dandi with you.
Confronted by the enormous challenges we face both locally and globally, it’s easy to feel powerless and overwhelmed.
For the past 4 years, I have been lucky to work for the UNDP as a goodwill ambassador and have seen not only the real challenges we face but also been blessed to meet dedicated people from all over the world desperately wanting to make the world a better place.
Unfortunately, charities have to spend way too much time fundraising, branding and networking– and less time doing the important work.
I have had countless discussions trying to find a way to better this system. By using technology there is a way.
We need to insist on working together across nonprofits to make sure we achieve the goals we all share, as quickly and efficiently as possible. That resources go to the groups that can solve whatever a specific challenge calls for, as soon as the need is there.
Dandi is a tool that can enable us to do just that.
Using and combining huge amounts of data from nonprofits on the ground, we will be able to direct funds to where they will have the most positive impact– faster and more efficiently than ever before.
I urge you to check out Dandi and join this new movement of collaborative humanitarian action.
Thank you,
Nikolaj

@pchow87 Likewise, any schedule for a release in Australia?
@pchow87@td_ha Thanks Ton! We'd love to be live in Australia.. Definitely our goal is to provide essential food and medicine coverage across geographies. We're starting in the US, refining the product, and then aim to open up additional regions. Thanks again for checking us out! :))
Super interesting! This is like an intersection of Influencers with non-profits they really care about. Can totally see this being a great platform to get first-timers engaged in donating.
Thanks Nikolaj. :-)
Hi Everyone -- here are some of the features we're currently working on:
• Fast, Transparent Give-Tech: All funds reach local nonprofits within a few days, which makes a big difference. We operationalize nonprofit output via standardized metrics.
• Rewards: Donors on Dandi get access to gift cards, swags, and special experiences, including TEDx style talks, skill-sharing workshops, and AMAs.
• A Network of Trust & Impact: Dandi cultivates a network of vetted, collaborative, and trusted nonprofits working on critical issues.
Our goal is to introduce new innovative ways to unlock direct, granular funding for effective front line nonprofits.
We don't believe altruism should be a sacrifice for anyone.
We'd love to have you help test Dandi and shape the product. What would you hope to see in a product like this? Please let us know in the comments.
Nice one folks! Any ETA for when it’ll be made available in Europe? I tried to download the app but there seem to be some geo restrictions (I’m based in Spain). Thank you - love the idea
@andrea_moro Thanks Andrea!! We are starting Dandi in the US. No firm timeline for European expansion YET.. but we are hopeful to serve international regions in 2021. Really appreciate your support. Will keep you posted!

The project sounds great, an increased stream of donations should definitely benefit the ones who need them, however, it is a bit dangerous to have a specific company run such charities as it can have a major influence of where the funds are directed to. How do we make sure that Dandi will not make biased decisions based on charity advertisements?
@aaron_neilson thanks Aaron! I would say roughly ~10% of nonprofit applicants will be eligible to join Dandi. We manually vet every single organization based on financial / operational transparency. Our recommendation engine puts a strong bias towards locality, but otherwise factors such as viralty of charity advertisements, size / reputation of charity, etc are generally non-factors.

So sad to learn this is not available for me, I don't know if it is the region or the device but Playstore won't support my S20+ here at Mexico.
@hugada hey Hugo~ Greetings sir. Yes, I'm sorry Dandi is not yet available in Mexico.. We hope to expand to new international markets in 2021, but for now are focused on growing and improving the product. Thanks for checking us out and sending you very best wishes Hugo!
