@rueter we use image recognition to identify different categories of images. Our aim is to merge this information with user preferences and offer individualized results, but at the moment we are in beta.
@mschreder@rueter Do users typically have an ongoing need for photos in the same categories? When we pull image/videos, it's usually for a singular purpose and not something we're looking to repeat. Remembering that we search within certain parameters, free vs paid for example, would be a nice feature.
@yvoschaap Awesome Question :) first "stranger" to ever ask me to explain where the name comes from.
We started with a vision to bundle services & make use of cognitive technologies to provide better (next level) services. So we wrote down a list of words, we ended up with common words that would match this such as dashboard (different services) remote control (controlling different things). This was before we picked a vertical.. bundling visual providers to create a significantly better experience for people looking for visuals (we are not there yet.. by a long stretch, but each day is a step forward).
TL:DR
The name is a combination of the words Dash(board)(Re)Mote(control). It happend to stick in our heads plus my first initial letter is the letter D and the M comes from Matthaeus (our CPO).
