Unit tests have been a particularly painful part of my career. I’ve felt the pain of constantly playing whack-a-mole with bugs at a hyper-growth startup that didn’t write unit tests. I’ve also felt the life sucked out of building when velocity slowed down to a snail's pace in the face of stringent code coverage requirements. I started to imagine a third option that would give me the safety of high code coverage without spending hours writing tests. Then I took that vision and built DeepUnit. DeepUnit uses AI to write tests that are verified to pass so you can develop with the confidence of full code coverage, while only spending a few minutes to review the tests. If your codebase doesn’t already have unit tests all it takes to fix that is a bulk run with the --a flag; if it does then going forward reviewing the tests we generate will take a tenth the time it does to manually write them. Hi @deep_justin_strong Looks good. I'll have a go with it. Are the tests generated passing every time or is there odds where the AI model produce bad tests? How do you go about handling the code-style, and getting the model to handle mocks? Have you tried Github Copilot? What would you say make DeepUnit better and how much?

Unit test generation is one of the few AI use cases that actually makes economic sense - high repetition, clear feedback loop, deterministic validation.

Curious how you handle edge-case discovery vs. just mirroring the happy path logic. Do you actively try to break the code (mutation-style thinking), or are the tests primarily derived from static analysis of the implementation?

Also interested in how “verified to pass” works under the hood - is there an iterative refinement loop until green, or a separate validation layer?
