AI coding agents are great at writing code—but they struggle to recreate beautiful designs from screenshots. DesignDNA bridges that gap by turning any website into a structured design system optimized for AI. DesignDNA is a Chrome extension that analyzes any website and compiles it into an AI-ready design system. Generate design tokens, CSS variables, Tailwind themes, Figma exports, and a comprehensive DESIGN.md that AI coding agents can actually understand.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
we realized that AI coding agents don't struggle because they can't write code—they struggle because they don't have the design context humans take for granted. The missing piece wasn't better prompting. It was missing design context. DesignDNA exists to bridge that gap by compiling websites into structured design systems that AI can actually understand.
The goal isn't to copy websites. it's to provide AI coding agents with structured design specifications and enough structured design context to build interfaces that feel consistent instead of generating generic AI slop.
DesignDNA analyzes a website and compiles it into an AI-ready design system:
• Design Tokens
• CSS Variables
• Tailwind v4 Theme
• Figma Export
• DESIGN.md — a comprehensive specification that AI coding agents can actually understand.
We're especially interested in feedback from people building with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Lovable, Bolt, v0, or any AI coding workflow.
We'd love to hear what would make this genuinely useful.

Finally something that gets AI to respect my design instead of reinventing it. The DESIGN.md output actually told my coding agent what to do, and the Tailwind theme was spot on.
