We chose it over Firebase and Auth0 because we needed Postgres (not NoSQL), row-level security out of the box, and auth that works seamlessly with both web sessions and JWT-based desktop app authentication. The developer experience is excellent — we went from zero to production auth with OAuth, email login, and session management in days, not weeks. For an indie product, Supabase is the right balance of power and simplicity.
