Ever had an idea for an app or a startup, but when you look to buy a domain, you hit the “is it taken?” grind? I built DomainGen because I was tired of the frustrating cycle of brainstorming the perfect domain name, only to find it's taken when I go to register it.
Here's how DomainGen works:
☑️ Lists 10,000+ domain names that "plausibly sounds like a startup"
🔎 Checks availability across the most common domains, notably .com, .ai, .io, .so, .app, and .sh
⚡ Caches results for 24 hours, making subsequent searches lightning-fast
This was inspired by an ongoing "YC name meme list" apple note I've been recording. I noticed a lot of startups have very similar names, usually just variations of the same words. So, I finally baked it all into an app where you can make your own :)
