DotFiles is a privacy-first file manager for Android built to keep your files on your device. Browse, search, copy, move, rename, delete, and restore files with a Recycle Bin. Includes Batch Rename, ZIP compress/extract, Storage Analyzer, Duplicate Finder, Large Files, Empty Folder cleaner, built-in viewers, and a Secure Folder with PIN and biometric protection. No ads, no cloud, no tracking.

How does the Secure Folder actually protect files from other apps that might already have permissions to read storage? Is it just hidden or genuinely inaccessible?
@dloker20536 Genuinely encrypted, not just hidden — AES-GCM key from Android Keystore, filenames encrypted too, PIN never stored raw (PBKDF2 + salt). So even an app with storage access would only see encrypted blobs.
One honest caveat: biometric right now is a UI-level convenience gate, not cryptographically bound to the key yet — that's shipping in my next release, coming in a few days.
DotFiles 1.2.0 is now available!
This update introduces several new features and improvements:
• Light, Dark, and System theme picker
• Smart Cleanup Plan in Storage Analyzer
• Similar Photo Finder for reviewing near-duplicate photos
• Storage Timeline to track storage changes across scans
• On-device Screenshot OCR Search
• Password-protected ZIP extraction
• Faster Storage Analyzer with multiple UI and performance improvements
Thanks to everyone who has shared feedback and feature requests. They continue to shape the development of DotFiles.
