The scroll jacking is... a little infuriating on a trackpad.
App looks interesting, but there is no pricing page, what would pricing look like after the trial?
@connor_norvell The app is free to download. After your 2 months of free refunds - Earny gets 25% of a successful refund. Earny only get's paid when you get paid - so don't worry and Happy Earning!
Any chance I could get a bump in the android waiting list? Oh and if you want to sign up for the waiting list, click here: http://www.earny.co?refcode=7f52...
As someone who avidly uses amazon and other internet shopping sites, I want to use Earny, but, Im very skeptical letting an app have open reign on my gmail. Can someone explain to me why Earny needs to "View, manage, and permanently delete my mail" or "Compose and send new mail" ?
@henrythefirst Earny needs your permission to extract receipts so that it can search for better prices, and send emails on your behalf requesting a refund, so you won't have to lift a finger.
These are the only things we ask your permission for. We don't need to "manage or delete" your email, but there is no way yet to get half of the permissions. Gmail only allows us all or none.
We don't have any interaction with your Gmail account aside from sending the emails on your behalf to get your refund. I hope that soon, there will be a way to extract emails and send them on your behalf without the other permissions.
Happy Earnings.

As a person who uses neither Android nor iOS, I have to ask: Why the requirement of an app, when authorization to scan an email account for receipts or connecting to a site's API if provided can be done from a desktop PC?
@xial We decided to start with an app based on our long-term vision. A big part of the company is the figure Earny. We feel strongly about connecting our community to Earny in addition to connecting our users to the service. And this we can achieve through an app.
@peterpham After a few days of having this running, I'm wondering if there's a way to have it only scan a few times a day? It's used a lot of data in just 6 days searching for 1 item.
@katie_weiler@peterpham Hey Katie! Earny doesn't use any of your mobile data to scan for purchases. All the scanning happens behind the scenes on our backend. I can assure you that the increase in mobile data, is not correlated to having Earny installed in your phone. I'm happy to help if you have more issues/questions.
@ovakrat beautiful product! Trying to onboard my wife to use it as well but she has transparency questions when trying to connect her Google login. I am sure you guys are trustworthy but can you help me provide some insight into the access requests from Earny? I.e Earny would like to compose and send new email?
Hi @michaeljnovotny!
In order to get you refunds when prices drop, we need to track your purchases, search for better prices and send emails on your behalf requesting a refund. Unfortunately, Gmail does not give us the flexibility to choose only specific permissions. We don't need to "manage or delete" your emails, but there is no way yet to get half of the permissions.
We don't have any interaction with your Gmail account aside from extracting receipts and sending emails on your behalf to specific merchants to get your refunds.

The product looks great but much like @paribus, this doesn't play nice when 2 factor authentication is enabled. How can this be tackled?
