Cannot believe it's launch day already!
Hi PH! 👋 I am Annie Chopra, I run marketing for Edily, where we aim to create an app that makes learning easier and more efficient with short-form videos.
As a Gen-Z, I often found myself scrolling on IG and TikTok a lot! I love learning new things and always found it easiest with short-videos. But, there was always the difficulty of finding the right video to get to the topic of interest. So many videos were hashtaged wrong or didn't have the correct information. That's why I am so excited to be part of Edily, because that's the problem it's solving. 💪 For Gen-Z learners like me, it's the place to be, without worrying about scrolling and wasting my time. Currently the entrepreneurship and financial literacy curriculums are live - both that I absolutely feel inclined to learning.
MY favourite feature of the app is definitely the learning map, where you can find videos according to the exact topic. As someone who didn't go to college, this feels as close to a real class as possible! If you are the kind of person to go through wikipedia pages and keep diving deeper and deeper into a topic you will definitely love Edily.
Truly, it's not just an app; it's a tool designed by a learner, making it user-friendly and efficient. Dive in and share your experience! 🗺️🤓
I really hope you get to check out Edily and love it as much as we have loved making it for you. Please share your feedback with us. I look forward to reading all your comments.
@appxcite Hey! Thank you so much. We really appreciate your support. Our Twitter handle is edilylearning.🙌🏼🙌🏼

@annie_chopra That's a great product, I will deliver it to my GEN-Z students, who will love this product for sure. Congratulations. I love the easy and user-friendly interface and the way it gives me the possibility to learn. You do great job, by building a community!
@tornike_tsiramua1 hey Tornike! Thank you so much! lets connect on LinkedIn we would love to talk further about your genz students being users of Edily and how we can bring the most value to them. So glad you like Edilys UI! Will definitely send that to our software team☺️☺️☺️
Hey PH community! 👋
I’m Jackson Foster, co-founder at Edily, a social video platform reimagining learning.
Our journey began with a realization: existing online learning resources are boring, but social video platforms like TikTok or YouTube are not built for learning. The struggle to sift through extensive content or resist distracting "related" suggestions inspired the birth of Edily. I'm building the tool I wish I had as a master's student isolated from friends / professors and starting a new company during the pandemic.
Edily is a platform that makes learning not only fun but productive as well. Edily has educational content for new or aspiring entrepreneurs 🚀, folks who want to become more financially literate 💰, and even an atom or two of science too! 🧪
For this community especially, we're dedicated to equipping entrepreneurs like you with concise, insightful videos covering every facet of building a business.
And Edily isn't just about education; it's a community where like-minded individuals can connect, collaborate, and grow together. Join our new groups feature (launched this week!), introduce yourself, and ask questions of the community! Or even try your hand at uploading a video into one of our learning maps!
Edily is completely FREE on both iOS and Android (shout out to all my Flutter devs out there)! We would love to hear your feedback and suggestions about what you want to see on Edily. Your feedback is incredibly valuable in shaping a unique learning experience and building a user-centric platform. Join us on this journey, and let’s build Edily together! 🎥 💪 😊
Cheers,
Jackson Foster

@jackson_foster cant wait for everyone to discover this product and love it as much as we have loved building it ❤️

💡 Bright idea
This looks really exciting - great work! Looking forward to learning more on your app - the learning maps look particularly useful.
A small bit of feedback - I wanted to see more of the features in your video, instead I felt we were chopping between stock video and quick previews on the screen! The features looked exciting - so please give us more of those in the next vid :)
@james_kuht the learning maps are definitely one of my personal fav features. Your feedback is noted and we will definitely keep it in mind for future videos about the app. Thank you so much 🙌🏼

@annie_chopra good luck :) seems like a potentially very impactful product!
@pa02 great to hear that! I also always struggled in my Chemistry class, glad to know that the videos are helpful. We’d love to hear if there’s anything else you’d like to see on the app that might make learning more easy for you :)
@pa02 hey PV! I am so glad you found Edily useful. We are especially keen on helping students like you, please feel free to reach out to any of the team members (my linkedin is on my profile) or on one of our social media handles with your thoughts and feedback! Do share this launch with your friends if possible. We appreciate the support❤️
@priya_agarwal15 hey Priya! So many of our creators feel the same way. And tbh, as an “older” genz I often feel this too, while I have the privilege of growing up with YT etc, something like Edily especially for financial literacy would have been life changing! 🙌🏼 currently we are open to creators signing up through our platform- we also reach out to creators whose content we like on different social media apps to cross-post content ☺️
@annie_chopra This is awesome! I'm actually launching something in the travel space soon, and we're reaching out to creators as well. I'd love to connect and discuss more. :)
@priya_agarwal15 glad to know that Priya! We’d be looking forward to your launch. We’d also love to connect and learn more about you - will reach out on LinkedIn to continue this conversation :)
Hey, PH community!
I’ve known Jackson, the founder of Edily, for quite a while now. He and the team are committed to making learning accessible and engaging. They have made it easy for me to add my content to Edily as a creator and will make it easy for you to discover that content, so I know you’ll find lots of great videos from a variety of creators on Edily. I would love to hear from other creators as well and would be happy to introduce you to the team!
Best,
Justin
@justgogrind thank you so much for your support Justin! Our creators mean a lot to us at Edily and we are glad to hear we have made that experience easier for you! 🙌🏼
@justgogrind The students in our pilots have also loved your content!!!

Congrats on the launch.
I was thinking about building something for kids in the age group of 10-15 that takes away online distractions and helps them learn things online.
I assume your app is designed to provide this. However, I have one curious question.
I am using your app, a notification of Tiktok/Youtube comes to my phone and I go there to take "some" time off, and after an hour I realise I just wasted that much time.
How do you tackle such a scenario?
@cosmos If I understand correctly, you're saying that if you're in the Edily app and then you see a notification for a different app, namely TikTok / YouTube, how do you tackle folks leaving to use those apps?
I think especially for a younger age range (say, 13-18 since COPPA laws make this scenario different for kids of 12 and younger), it's about notification management in that specific case. The second there is a realization of "wow I just WASTED an hour", you have to address the trigger. Remove notifications from those apps. If it's already habitualized, then it's learning "when I feel the urge to go on TikTok, I do x instead". There are also screen time limiters or apps out there that can help, such as Clearspace: https://www.getclearspace.com/
With Edily, you can say "I still like this kind of content, but I want it to be educational so that I don't feel like my time was wasted at the end of a session."
It definitely takes some self-discipline, but that is table stakes when you've got a supercomputer in you're pocket!

@jackson_foster Yes that's the exact issue I am talking about.
I am specifically talking about the age group of 10-15 (although a similar principle can be applied to others as well).
What you talked about is self-realisation, discipline, and being mature. These are children we are talking about, most of them aren't mature enough to understand what they are doing wrong. Yes, there are many settings/services there to tackle such use cases, but those should be initiated by the user and aren't imposed.
At such an age, sometimes you need to push the children in the right direction rather than them getting distracted by a plethora of notifications. This can be done using Gamification.
My point here is that there is an ocean of knowledge out there in the world, and we pay for streamlined courses. And Yes, we should be self-aware of the pitfalls of distraction but sometimes the platforms can also help with the cause. My question then is whether your app will address such a concern. I have myself taught students of that age group and understand their psychology to some extent, to be honest, it's not fair for us to expect children of that age group to be self-aware: )
@cosmos goal orientation and gamification are things that we would like to add to the app as a part of our roadmap.
While that will create some level of focus, and of course we can create education around these issues, if someone has no self-discipline, then they are likely going to give into addiction. We will not be as addictive as TikTok and we’re not trying to be. But we can make it fun still. I think any learning app out there that has been successful can show that learners have to choose to spend their time on learning, and there are a lot of apps that do this on mobile phones.
I’m curious if you have a specific thought here?
