I built EPUB Compressor after running into a simple problem myself: image-heavy EPUBs (manga, comics, textbooks, illustrated books) can get huge fast, and most “compression” tools either destroy quality or require uploading private books to a server.
So I made a native iOS app that compresses EPUBs entirely on-device — no uploads, no waiting for cloud processing, and no privacy concerns. The goal was simple: reduce file size as much as possible while keeping visual quality nearly identical for actual reading.
