I've been using eXo Platform 7.0 as a Slack alternative for about a month now. We migrated to eXo after Microsoft Teams became too bloated for us. Three months in: the good - it's lightning fast, fully customizable, and our data stays on our servers. The document editing is slick. The challenging - onboarding non-tech users took effort, and we miss some integrations. But for our 20-person dev team? Perfect fit. The open-source model lets us tweak everything - worth the learning curve if you value control over convenience.

One challenge is the support in community, the challenge is grow the community to ensure organize support.
