Hey Phil! Huge congrats on launching Expi today!!!
Super proud & excited to give it a spin :)
A few quick questions to learn more (and hopefully help others decide to try it) :
What’s one workflow that used to take you 5–10 minutes of fiddling in other tools, but now takes just a couple clicks in Expi?
What’s the #1 feature on your personal wishlist for the next big update?
For someone just jumping in, what’s the first thing you recommend they try to see how much faster/simpler Expi feels compared to their current setup?
Love love ✨💋
@cathcorm Hey thanks Catherine for those amazing words <3 I've put so much effort into this, it's nice to finally show it to the world :D
Here's the answers for your questions!
1. One of the best case for me was when I'm rendering multiple cinematic sequences with all those folders and folders of image sequences. Being able to just right clikc on a folder then instantly get it converted to a h264 or mov was such a time gain haha.
2. With all the AI models going wild and getting better, I'd love to have my own little Expi AI so that users could interface with it in natural language so they can easily export what they need in the format they want.
3. It's gonna sound simple, but I think just the drag and drop, choose a preset that is very self explanatory on what it does and then exporting quickly just like that. I've really put a lot of thoughts and efforts on making a super simple and efficient renderer that uses one of the most powerful media tool in the industry (FFmpeg).
Mega happy that you're on board and feel free to reach out if you want features or something from Expi :D
@philip_landry1 i LOVE that you’re already dreaming about an 'Expi AI' for natural language exports!! that could be game-changing!
How far along are you thinking on that? Are you planning to integrate something like a local LLM (for privacy) or keep it simple at first? Super intrigued!
@cathcorm Oh! Local LLM for sure, Privacy comes first for me. I've started the groundwork on it but it's not quite there yet. I don't want to under deliver haha!
@philip_landry1 ahahah good thinking! better keep some fun stuff to ship along the way :)
