Pretty smart idea to have this use a tablet for the computer and screen instead of paying extra for those.
How is the app on the tablet going to work with the microphone and facial recognition? Both always on all the time? Seems like the bathroom example used in your video would be a weird place to put something like this
What apps and functions are going to be free vs subscription? And what's the oldest version of iOS you plan on supporting for the app? Some older tablets people have laying around may struggle
@kristofertm Thanks for the question! The microphone detects a wake word on-device instead of constantly uploading audio, the camera detection is also done on-device. We plan to support iOS 9+ for our iOS app, but most features will be web-based and users will be able to simply load our website on their tablet to support older devices. There are unfortunately some features that we won’t be able to support on older devices (for example the original iPad doesn’t have a camera) but for these devices a simpler version of Firefly will still be available through the web app.

Nice and smart and slick, but is this perhaps a solution in search of a problem? I am not going to stand in front of a mirror and read the news, that just doesn't make any sense.
When I get up in the morning, shower, shave, brush teeth, then the logical information interface is audio - it works whatever I am doing at the time - s/s/s it got me covered. It used to be the radio, but now the Google Home unit in my bedroom and bathroom takes care of that - mostly I listen to the news, but if I need info about my day, order a cab, get other info, then that's also just a "hey google" away.
For this to work, I would need a dedicated tablet stashed behind a mirror, a tablet I'd use for a maximum of five minutes a day and I need to actually need to take my attention away from what I am really doing - and when shaving, that's an issue.

As IF we are not ALREADY way too addicted to our devices, now we need it in our bathrooms/on our mirrors :(
I'd love for such great brain power to go toward solving REAL issues we have in our society...
