Flying Pages improves the user experience as navigating between the pages of the WordPress site feels instant. The default settings (screenshot: https://d.pr/i/V6oROu) can be tweaked if needed to exclude shop items from getting added to the cart etc.
The dev is super helpful and has a great accompanying website on WordPress speedup and performance.
Hi Hunters,
I'm Gijo Varghese, creator of Flying Pages.
Flying Pages is a tiny JavaScript code (1KB gzipped) that preloads links in the viewport or on mouse hover, so that inner pages are loaded instantly.
Demo: https://wpspeedmatters.com/
- Preload pages in the viewport
- Preload pages on mouse hover
- Limits the number of preloads per second
- Stops preloading if the server is busy/down
- Understands user’s connection and preferences
Give it a try and let me know what do you think in the comments
Thanks!
For me, I'd like to be able to choose which pages pre-load. That way I could prioritize certain key landing pages across the site to preload even if they aren't in the user's viewport in that moment.
@andhugg Thanks for the feedback. Right now there is an option to blacklist keywords/patterns/url. In future I may bring this feature to only allow from a whitelisted bucket
@gijo_varghese Thanks for your quick reply! If you ever add this, let me know, I'd definitely download. And I'd see it as a real benefit to lots of websites that are wanting their core landing pages to fly, esp sites with larger numbers of pages and larger numbers of internal links on those pages.
An awesome plugin by Gijo, needs improvement, but nothing can perfect the world so right now it is working absolutely fine. Would love if Gijo keeps adding more into this.
Extremely helpful plugin. It combines what instant.page and quicklink do without the hassle of setting both of them up. It also doesn't mess around with your data (google analytics), like Quicklinks do.
Great work Gijo!
Flying pages is the best of both Worlds (quicklink and instant.page). Using it on my static site, it works like a charm. Best part, the developer keeps updating the product based on users' feedback. Give it a try and see fir yourself 😉
