IMHO, college is one of the best places to figure out what you want to do, if you can afford it. Those that are confident in what they want to pursue long term might benefit from skipping the cost and time in a degree.
I know some teenage entrepreneurs like @orbuch and @danielsing3r that are skipping school to start their own companies. It's inspiring and a sign of how the world has changed, for the better.
@rrhoover Not to forget, college is a great place to meet other like minded folks who could go on to become your future co-founders! I met one of my current co-founders at grad school. But you are right that it does burn a big hole in the pocket
