After 10 years at DistroKid, I kept hearing artists frustrated with sharing unreleased music. SoundCloud has copyright bots, WeTransfer expires, Google Drive has no analytics. Gatefolded gives you: password-protected links, real analytics (who listened + when), instant access revocation, and optional tip collection. No platform risk, no false copyright claims. The problem you’re solving feels very real. Sharing unreleased music has always been awkward, especially when tools either expire, flag content, or give zero insight into whether anyone actually listened. The idea of a private, controlled space with clear analytics makes a lot of sense for artists and collaborators.
I also like that this comes from firsthand experience, both from the DistroKid side and as a musician yourself. It shows in how focused the product feels.
Curious question: do you plan to add any lightweight feedback or commenting flow for listeners, so artists can get reactions without losing control of the files or links?
