Love the front wheel design. The velcro around the forks is interesting -- I suppose to keep the drive unit stationary instead of torqing? Are two velcro straps enough resistance?
This is a great solution for those who already have a nice bike! Couldn't wait for see the practical statistics on the road.

The "PediCab" cycle rickshaw is also known by a variety of other names such as bike taxi, velotaxi, pedicab, bikecab, cyclo, beca, becak, trisikad, or trishaw.
Reminds me a lot of the Copenhagen Wheel concept, I still don't see them on the streets thou. Hope this goes big, the wind in Denmark can be very annoying and this could really help. Plus, in Copenhagen, like Amsterdam, a lot of older people bike as well

But a push is better than a pull so a back wheel would be ideal in the future. May require more installation work.

Very interesting. Hoping for that much money this thing comes with a carrying case. There's no way I am leaving my $1000 wheel attached to my bike while I am out and about.
@ralphmartynward I think that their video did a nice job at subtly communicating some differences. Primarily, this is front wheel drive instead of rear wheel in Copenhagen design. Front wheels are a lot easier to take on and off, and they show a use case where bike is stored outside without the wheel initially. Also, this suggests that you could mix and match with a normal wheel depending on mood. To me this alone could be more appealing for some riders. Also, this has swappable battery and airless tire. But Copenhagen offers different tire sizes. Neither model seems to be compatible with disk brakes, requiring rim brakes. Overall, a move toward conveniently retrofitting existing bikes is positive for consumers, cool to see innovations heating up here - both near Boston too.
