I built this because I needed it.
I'm an expat trying to figure out my next move. But every time I tried to research options, I hit the same wall: scattered visa info, generic "top 10" lists that didn't account for my actual situation. I'm married. I have pets. What's actually feasible for me?
So I built GMTFOO to answer that for myself. Then I realized the same question was keeping a lot of Americans up at night for entirely different reasons.
What started as a personal tool turned into something much bigger once I shared it. The Reddit communities (r/AmerExit, r/IWantOut, people who are genuinely in the trenches figuring out their exit plan) became the backbone of this product. Every piece of feedback shaped it. Visa edge cases I hadn't considered. Countries I'd missed. Ancestry pathways that weren't surfacing correctly. People asking about tax implications. Every week this site gets sharper. These users are why.
