Recruiters often use your Github activity as a metric for their hiring decisions. Gitslash automatically populates your Github activity (contributions) chart. In the meantime you can keep working on Gitlab/Bitbucket. Or not working at all, we don't judge 🤩
Super excited to share this with everyone! 🤩
My Github contribution chart was completely empty because I use Gitlab on my day job. I looked for ways to make it look more alive and... here we are!
Gitslash is a project that I use to trailblaze learning experiences. This helps me prepare for other projects later on. Launching on Product Hunt has been on my bucket list for a long time 😊
Hope you enjoy the value Gitslash brings. Thanks for visiting!

Sounds like a fun educational project but defeats the purpose of having that chart. It should ideally motivate the person to do contribute more.
@apvarun I've gotten a lot of feedback already, and I'm taking yours to heart!
I've had feedback that it would be great to have a Gitlab/Bitbucket <> Github sync for example, showing actual contributions from different platforms. Maybe for the next release 😁
Thank you, Varun!

The fact that there's no documentation - or even the most basic explanation whatsoever, of *what* this is actually doing, is quite concerning and should be concerning to anyone thinking of giving over access to their github account to this. Sketchy.
@mrdntlxla Hey Michael, thanks for the feedback.
I was under the impression that my tagline gave it away:
"Daily automated contributions that bring your Github activity chart to life."
But, I may be wrong. When building software, things that look obvious often aren't :-)
What kind of documentation do you think I am missing?
Thanks again Michael!

Here are some stats as we're nearing the end of the launch day:
38 people created a schedule & will now autopopulate their Github contribution chart.
3 people signed up to be notified when I release backfill contributions
... And 1 person upgraded to Premium! My first SaaS sale🥳
I'd like to thank you all for the great feedback you've all provided 🙏 This was an amazing experience & I'm looking forward to my next launch :-)

Unfortunately there is no sentence what exactly you are doing. Before I give you consent of my github data, I want to know what you are doing and how. Maybe just a few sentences what exactly you are doing would be great (e.g. creating a private repository and syncing commits from gitlab/bitbucket and create ones in the private repo.)
@webslash Yup, great product for normie devs tho. 🙊🙊🙊 Btw. what about this for your next product: GitClean. Basically it cleans up git projects. Like there are so much dead cruft in git projects on GitHub. That can be removed. Github it self would probably pay you to build this because it would save them billions in cloud cost. I would pay for this as well. And you can plug by sliding into PRs. You would be a millionaire by next Friday!
