I am actually creating a short video for my Product Hunt launch in mid-March and I'm loving myself some Gliterly. I never thought I could such amazing content. Check it out

However, the software was very buggy. Like if I wanted to add a new video, I can't then put the video in the correct place because it doesn't stick to a particular position. It's a bit hard to explain but I can do it deeper if there's interest. Basically, there was a lot of reloading going on so that was frustrating. But overall, I love the product and your mission. It would also be nice to be able to break clips into segments. I have to download and do that on iMovie which is extra work and wait time.

Also I found it surprising that GIPHYs were in the image pane. Thought it would be in video. And if I go to the GIPHY website and copy and paste a .mp4 file, I can't paste it into the upload my own video section, which if GIPHYs are not considered videos, it would explain why it didn't work lol

@jeff_zhang5 Hi Jeff, that's a pretty cool video and thanks for the detailed feedback! Super useful. The video placement shouldn't happen, i'll take a look at this. Any idea on how to reproduce it? Regarding the reloading - any specific part that you are thinking of? I'll probably remove / rework the Pexels and Pixabay video integrations as i'm struggling with requests frequently getting stuck. Regarding multiple clips - it's under consideration and behind a feature flag at the moment. As longer form videos > 15s are a challenge to render within a decent time frame - once the video rendering has been improved i'll get to this.

@jeff_zhang5 GIFs are under the Image pane as this is the behaviour of Pitch lol - could be changed if video pane makes more sense.

So you publish a tool to make a short video of your app, and yet your PH image is static, and even inside the image list there's not a single video that shows your own product that was made with it. I'd call it a huge missed opportunity

Hi all! I’m Oskar and the maker of Glitterly. Omg not sure how this got posted here as I wanted to officially launch Glitterly on PH a bit later since it’s still in a very early beta! I’m a big fan of following feature updates for my favourite apps, and I’ve always wondered how they make videos that have all these nice transitions and zooms. And so I wanted to create a product that a non-professional video editor / solo developer / bootstrapping tech founder can use to edit a screen recording of your app. Use cases: feature demos, presentations, social media posts, “how to” videos. This is still a rough MVP so i’m very keen to hear your feedback.
