I actually love the idea, using AI to find what AI thinks about my brand is extremely important, however I would really love tho use this tool for different models than gpt-5 only. But it looks super cool and gave me very valuable information in 10 seconds of my time.
GPT-5 changes once again how brands appear in ChatGPT's answers. With GPT-5 SEO we built a tool that brings marketers up to speed, and helps them understand how the new model thinks about their brands.
With 800 million user using ChatGPT weekly, understanding your brand's presence in AI responses has become crucial for modern marketing. This tool helps me with a good view angle.

I am learning SEO recently and I have been always wondering how does GPT-5's understanding of a brand evolve over time, and can the tool track changes in brand visibility or sentiment across different versions of GPT?
@justin2025 the models by foundation labs including OpenAI often get further trained and then from time to time released as newer versions. That also means that newer versions of a model might know more about recent events than previous versions (if the recent events found their way into the training material).
That said: the main way ChatGPT answers questions that require up-to-date knowledge is by doing web searches or custom data lookups in databases that have that information.
With this tool we wanted to provide a simple way to check what the model itself knows and thinks based on its training material. We found it helpful for internal use and to be honest quite surprising in some cases.
That's why we wanted to make it available to more people.
I tried it... How does the site select its competitors? Because the website I used is for a tech hackathon (Event) and it lists competitors like Procore, Plangrid, which is out of our category.
The report is a direct test for what GPT-5 knows about a brand and its competitors (without any tool use like search). This means the report does not give an answer like ChatGPT would.
It is a test for what GPT-5 knows based on its training material. So it's a bit like using a stick to poke at a black box. For well known brands the results are kind what you would expect BUT in some cases surprisingly inaccurate.
Since for most users (unless you manually switch to another legacy model) get GPT-5 nowadays we were curious what GPT-5 knows about brands.
For smaller brands the information is not very good but that's exactly why we built it: so that we can check what the model knows when it can't use tools like search because what the model knows without any help is also affecting how it searches.
Hope that helps! I am working right now on explaining the how/why behind the report better!
@__tosh Thank you for clarification Thomas :) It is more clear now.

Hi, congrats on the launch. I tested out and found the data it gave me was not accurate. I used chatgpt with gpt5 and asked the same domain and it gave me accurate answers. Curious what data does the app rely on?
@jinsoncjohny when you ask ChatGPT it will often also use tools like search before it answers. With this report we are testing GPT-5 what it thinks without having access to any other tools (and without looking up the domain).
If there is anything in the report that you think is missing or that you think we should include, please let us know!

@jinsoncjohny Thank you for your feedback: I've added more context to the segments in the report to explain that the tool is asking GPT-5 without tool use to test what it knows from training material.

I just tested this tool, and overall, the experience was good. However, the data in the Competitive Landscape section is not accurate. Our main competitors are missing, and the ones listed have little or no relevance to our business, so displaying them isn’t very useful.
Additionally, the information provided about what ChatGPT thinks of any brand or product feels quite limited. I tested my company, Appventurez, and the recognition score shown was 72/100, accompanied by the description:
"A full-stack software development partner delivering innovative digital solutions across diverse industries."
However, it’s unclear what metrics you used to calculate this score. Could you clarify the methodology behind it?
We built the tool because we wanted to check what GPT-5 knows, based on its training material.
That's why we don't give it any access to web search or other ways of getting additional context.
The idea is that for marketers (think: brand marketing, content marketing, SEO, …) it helps to get a feeling for what GPT-5 knows out of the box BEFORE it can use web search.
That's also why for some more well known brands the answers are better: GPT-5 learned a lot about them during training and for some less well known brands where there was less info in the training material GPT-5 knows less.
But even for well known brands GPT-5 is not super spot on all the time.
And especially for recent events it can't know them since they were not part of the training material either.
Please let me know if there is anything content-wise you would like us to add to the tool.
We'll work on communicating better what the tool can show and why it is interesting.
Have a great weekend!

Now that GPT-5 is the new default model family for ChatGPT it's a good time to check what ChatGPT knows about a brand based on its training material.
That's why we built the GPT-5 Brand Visibility report.
You can enter the domain of a brand you are interested in (e.g. apple.com) and you get a full report of what ChatGPT using GPT-5 knows about the brand and its competitors.
The GPT-5 Brand Visibility report is free and only takes a few seconds to run.
Please let us know if you find any surprises.
Let's find out what GPT-5 thinks about the major brands.

Hello Makers & Creators,
This is Pete from gpt5seo.com
We built this tool, because we needed to know how GPT-5 changes rankings for our SEO clients.
So, what does GPT-5 actually “know” about your brand?
Now you can find out in seconds. Just drop in your website and you’ll get:
📊 Recognition Score => how well GPT-5 recognizes your brand
🌐 Social presence & sentiment => what tone it associates with you
🥇 Recommendation likelihood => the chance GPT-5 would suggest you in a conversation
🆚 Competitive landscape => your direct & indirect AI search competitors
✅ Analysis confidence => how sure GPT-5 is about its own answers
Let me know in the comments what surprises you about your own results.
We’ve been using GPT5SEO for our SEO clients, and tested it on big brands like Nike & Tesla,...
If you like it, an upvote means the world 🚀
Let’s make our brands findable in the age of AI search.

@peterbuch Love the Recognition Score. Can I segment by locale/model family and set alerts when competitors outrank my brand?

@peterbuch @anwarlaksir love the monitoring/alert angle. We're looking into it!
