I work in language education for four different languages and found this app. I was just discussing AI and language assessment (testing and training) with a friend and he linked me to this. Just curious about how you are parsing out semantics and a few other things. Tried a few student text samples for fun and it was interesting. Lots of potential but might be able to help you solve some conceptual problems. Would love to get in touch and might be able to contribute on the linguistics and second-language learner language (oh what a mouthful) side. Cheers!

@rod_hinn hey Rod, sent you an email. We don't specifically parse semantics - ie. we don't extract noun-entities, then do subject agreement and so forth in a symbolic fashion. The transformer architecture does the heavy lifting and all we have to do is data augmentation. The main thing is to ensure the distribution of errors that the transformer sees is the same as the distribution of errors in real user input.

The UI is confusing when you have a large paragraph. It's hard to tell where the errors are and you need to click line by line to get the suggestions. I would love to see a Firefox/chrome extension for it. stand alone client as well.

@sagivo working on the Chrome extension now. The UX is a bit different from Grammarly and friends, but it's rather necessary because our system operates on one sentence at a time. We could do a better job of explaining this though, because many users seem confused by it.

I did copy&paste the comment of the founder to his own tool and I must say I'm impressed with the tool, however, not impressed with the founder. Pretty much in every sentence he wrote there is an error, and he even did not use his own tool to sound more natural! Funny. And the tool is great. I love it. It really corrected the terrible english of the founder to a level that is understandable.

@greg_swierad it's true that my English could use some improvement. I do find it funny that our system highlights the word "Grammarly" as an error, but to be fair it does sound like an ESL error.

I have purchased the Gramara pro plan. it's been a week I am not able to use its pro features. I have tried to contact the support team multiple times. But nobody is responding. I am really disappointed with such a poor service.

@anwesha_145 hey Anwesha. I may have missed your email, sorry! The credit card charge didn't go through, so that's probably the cause. Your card was definitely not charged, but there may be a UI bug that showed a successful payment. I'll look into this further

I tried it thinking it would not be better than LanguageTool, and I was positively surprised. Great job. Looking forward to seeing a Chrome Extension!
