HarborDrop is the IDM for Mac β built natively with Swift. β‘ Multi-segment downloads split files into parallel connections for max speed. π¬ HLS stream capture grabs videos browsers can't save. π Browser extension for Chrome & Firefox auto-intercepts downloads. π Smart categorization sorts files by type, domain, and custom rules. π οΈ Post-download actions run scripts or tag files automatically. No Electron. No bloat. Just fast, native downloads for macOS 14+.

Mac users have been waiting for a solid IDM alternative. How does the HLS stream capture work exactly?
@daniel_rachlinΒ Hi Daniel! Thanks so much. We felt the exact same pain!
For the HLS stream capture, HarborDrop automatically detects .m3u8 playlist files when you're watching a video in the browser. Instead of just saving the playlist, it parses it to find the actual video and audio streams, downloads the individual .ts segments in parallel (to keep it fast!), and then automatically merges them into a single playable file (like .ts or .mp4) right on your Mac.
No terminal commands or extra tools needed β it just handles the heavy lifting in the background. Hope you give it a try!

I visited the site and saw a logo that looked familiar, so I checked my browsing history and realized it was the person who posted the guide on how to install Spicetify.
Iβve only been using Firefoxβs built-in downloader and FDM up until now, but I think Iβll give this a try. It looks promising.
