This is an amazing update @nbashaw and the Hardbound team! I often find it hard to keep reading regularly. I can't tell you the number of times I've picked up and put down Hooked (sorry @nireyal, I'll finish it 🙊).
I think Hardbound will be the cornerstone habit that gets me reading AND finishing books, whether it's in 5 minutes or hunkering down for the full version. Great for deciding which books to buy too!
I've always enjoyed Hardbound's stories and format - the illustrations, pictures and tap through text make the educational subjects very digestible. As someone who likes reading nonfiction to learn and improve myself, but doesn't always have time to do so, this is a great idea for a relaunch. I'm definitely looking forward to trying it out. Keep up the good work @nbashaw and team!
I shared with Nathan the idea of visualizing books back in December for a partnership with Hardbound - something we were already doing at Instaread.co.
For comparison, see Instaread's visualization of Righteous Mind - https://drive.google.com/drive/u...
(also in our iphone app - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/...)
@rahulific Hey! I honestly totally forgot about that, but after clicking your google drive link I remembered it. I love what you and Blinkist are doing, and wish you the best! It's a fun space to be in.

Fantastic! One suggestion @nbashaw, I would consider putting the back button at the bottom when you slide down inside a book. I have to contort my hand to reach the back button on an iPhone 6 without using the double tap gesture.
@nbashaw thanks. not as common in business books BUT sometimes there is a startling conclusion, prediction, summary, etc - would just require wrapping as 'conclusion' and giving me a setting to "hide conclusion unless i click to reveal" (like the popular spoiler plugin for discourse, you could just "blur it out" and let me click to see it)
This is the future (or the beginning of the future) of storytelling, no question. This update seems like a smart direction to go. The format is still amazing. Hopefully, it sustains Hardbound for the long term. Well done Nathan & Team!
love explainers like these especially since I tend not to read books
I still subscribe to the newsletter notifications but the app makes me want to read more now
