The idea for HEADLNE// first came to me during COVID, when trying to keep up with the latest news felt overwhelming, fragmented, and often depressing. I realised how much we all relied on fast news updates, but how exhausting it was to filter through noise, bias, and negativity just to stay informed.
That experience stayed with me, and over time the vision matured. I wanted to build something that combined the speed of social media with the clarity of a clean, distraction-free news feed but without the toxicity or algorithm-driven overwhelm.
In July 2025, I finally began building HEADLNE// from scratch. As a software developer with over a decade of experience, I leaned on both my professional background and modern AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate the process, while still ensuring the product met my own high standards of quality, security, and reliability. Living with a chronic illness, I also knew I needed to be smart about my energy, so I treated AI as a coding partner, not a crutch.
The result is HEADLNE//: a thoughtfully designed platform that has been years in the making, inspired by the need for a healthier, smarter way to consume global news.
