I got to spend some time with the company at our Sprint Mobile Heath Accelerator, powered by Techstars (full diclosure, I'm part of the Techstars investment team) and the product is real and the team is moving fast. I'm a backer of their Kickstarter campaign and am looking forward to it shipping.
My use case - I have plenty of water bottles, but really have no idea if I'm drinking enough every day (most days probably not) and my trainer wants me drinking almost a gallon a day when I'm on my hardcore paleo diet / lifting regimen (I do 10 days on, 20 days more lax) to help flush the protein waste (hard on the liver). This will fit perfectly into my quantified training flow. I use LoseIt! to track food intake, Withings scale to track body comp and now will have Hidrate for water intake.
@arinewman Thanks, Ari! We are so excited to get the bottle to you! I am curious - do you you use any app to aggregate everything that you track or do you use each app individually?
This is such a killer idea. Most people don't understand how much water they should be drinking and those of us that do probably don't drink nearly as much as we should or want to.
I'm a huge believer that you can't manage what you don't measure. Backing now. Awesome job founders.
Hello Product Hunters, meet Hidrate - they made an awesome connected water bottle that makes sure that you're hydrated all day long.

*jaw drops* This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Really excited to see it, and very please it's so close to shipping. You're gonna have a hit on your hands, I can tell!
@joshpuetz Thanks Josh, we are so excited, and can't wait to get you your HidrateMe!

It is great, and i would buy it for sure but the shipping for my country is 25$... that's too expensive guys, for a 45$ product (that's an OK price by the way).

@gilto1024 I agree that $25 shipping is pretty huge. One thing I'm aware of is whether $70 is really a kickstarter worthy price? Like, if I back at $70, what are the odds that when you guys launch and have distributers in the UK that I could buy it for less than $70? I really want one but trying to work out if it makes financial sense to buy one now or if I can get it cheaper down the line. (cc. @nadyanguyen)
