Howspace empowers organizations to bring their people together to learn,
collaborate, and arrive at decisions that drive impact. Our platform guides shared journeys, makes sense of large-scale conversations, and ensures that
everyone has a role in creating impact.
@victoria_loskutova In comparison to Slack, Teams, Trello use case is different. Slack is a great tool for team to collaborate on. Howspace is for a facilitator(s) to engage a group of people to a process. Biggest added value is the increased amount of engagement in comparison to all other tools and that is because the user experience is much easier for the participants.
I have studied Howspace - Digital Facilitation Platform, which excellently combines human interaction, collaboration and technology. It’s easy to use for facilitator and participants. AI offers excellent opportunities for digital collaboration and facilitation.
@paula_marttinen thanks a lot. To the point. We like to develop technology that enables new ways of working and learning together, that can be mind-blowing.

Howspace is an excellent choice to deliver better workshops, events and strategy processes. We all come to meetings, seminars and our mind full of information. During the seminar you memos are "somewhere". You meet interesting people, but have no time to have deep discussions. After the workshop your run back to daily life. What has changed?
We have used Howspace e.g. before 28 hour workshops to prepare better, collecting preinformation. During workshops used polls, documented images and sketches easily with taking photo with mobile phone. From chat and polls we have delivered conclusions with AI. And after workshop all materials are available to everyone.

@ilkka_makitalo what new features can we see in the near future?
@timo_ovaskainen there is a lot in our roadmap: workspace level AI features, better user acvity dashboard, our version of post-it notes and categorization, more option to data locations, .... just to name a few
Thank you for hunting us @therealsjr, we're so honored to be here.
Long story short – My name is Ilkka and I used to be a teacher back in the nineties. I signed up for a ’new radical teaching methods’ course and learned about participative learning.
In practice, my classroom moved from teacher-centric teaching to pupil-centric teaching and the results were great. Kids took self-leadership over learning and they also felt shared responsibility for reaching goals. Not long after I was asked to consult other teachers and schools and later leadership in companies.
What I learned, essentially, is that co-creation sparks engagement. Engagement sparks commitment and committed people deliver results. You need all those three aspects – co-creation, engagement, and commitment – to create a sustained change.
Success is all about people. If you fail with your people and your culture, then chances are you will fail in your business. Or at least you’re not able to leverage the human capital at your disposal.
So we formed a hypothesis: if you could facilitate participative leadership, you would create a sustained impact.
And you need software to do that at scale. Howspace is not a random idea, it is the latest development in my lifelong journey as a facilitator that started in the nineties with custom software. :)
So, what is Howspace? Howspace is a digital facilitation platform.
Howspace helps leaders create sustained impact by facilitating participative leadership and learning. The only scalable solution would have to be digital and asynchronous so that everyone would be able to contribute, so we built Howspace with that objective at its core.
Our mission is to inspire people: to give people a purpose and a sense of belonging in an organization.
I know that may sound a bit inflated but I genuinely believe that and we have a pretty good collection of case studies to back up my vision, and show how people are using Howspace to work together better, organize themselves, and improve participation and understanding.
I’d really appreciate it if you’d check Howspace out. I’m ready to answer any questions.
Thanks.
Ilkka

In a time when boards can't meet in person Howspace really delivered! (In my case, it was with two Chambers of Commerce boards tasked with coming up with a strategy direction and building a consensus on sensitive topics).
Having a joint workspace that was super easy to set up solved the problem of collaborating asynchronously and helped us get things moving. I wouldn't want to event think of the mess of emails and phone calls that we'd have to deal with if it weren't for our Howspace workspace.
@johanna_tl Thanks a lot. As you know there is plenty of application areas and use cases for Howspace. It is amazing to see the faces of Howspace facilitators when they hear other facilitators stories and realise what possibilities they still have with Howspace to do new things and their life easier and more fun!

@johanna_tl I have really appreciated your support and coaching in using Howspace to transition my work. Hearing more about the experiences you write about above would be helpful as well.

Thank you so much, Howspace! Though a luddite, Howspace is intuitive enough for even me to use! And the facilitation tools meet the needs of my clients, who are primarily Native American, and match my "usual" in-person and active facilitation style.
@stephanie_owens Thanks Stephanie. Happy to hear! I did not know that Howspace is utilised with Native Americans. Wow!

@ilkka_makitalo Yes! We're serving about 4 of the 25 Nations in NM currently. I had to really search and consider the platform I needed to use to assist in keeping their crucial projects moving forward. Each Nation is working to expand its sovereignty through education self-determination. The indigenous culture is very much about in-person relationship building and collaborative thinking, usually around a meal shared. While virtual facilitation isn't totally the same, I am very pleased with Howspace and so are my clients.
I think it's a wonderful product when a leader wants to involve and include everyone - especially if the team(s) are in multiple locations or working remotely, as most of us are nowadays.
Before Howspace I didn't know what the difference is between collaboration and facilitated collaboration - but now I do and the difference in impact is huge!
@tomi_hilvo Thanks. To the point. Leaders as facilitators is a big thing and it can even move to an idea of every expert having facilitation skills. And an excellent platform for that : )
