I love the idea of generating slidedecks from Markdown and I've tried pretty much all of the options in this area. Presenter is the epitome of an opinionated app. If you are willing to work the way it wants you to work -- and only that way -- then it's pretty great. But that is a narrow lane you must stay in and the tool quickly loses its appeal when you want to do something even slightly off-course from the well-intentioned but very limited and limiting workflow it prescribes.

I found myself with a weekend to turn a blog post into a 30-minute presentation. Presenter tricked me into writing a good talk instead of letting me fiddle with slides for hours. The talk went great and, as a bonus, offering the audience text and PDF versions of the talk + slides was easy peasy.

Handles code presentation with syntax highlighting too? Yes, it does. In my 10 minutes of using the product I am totally sold. Instabuy. Highly recommended. [So many things that were obviously done right here it is impressive. A former me might have tried to create this software myself. Instead of spending the 1000s of hours to developing it, I can just purchase a license and get to work on my presentations. :D ]

iA Presenter is just as joyful to use as iA Writer. It is a refreshing take on what PowerPoint, Keynote, Slides, etc. failed to address with their apps: focusing on the essential. It's the focus on the "story" which makes the whole process of creating presentation less dreadful and more sophisticated in how I want to present my ideas to the audience. Bravo! ✨

Provides a great workflow for creating simple, elegant presentations. If you aren't confident with crafting the totality of a presentation using Keynote or PowerPoint (they can both be distracting), this is a great alternative that allows you to focus on the message and getting that across. For disclosure, I signed up to the beta and used it regularly.

Best presentation app I've ever used. People will comment, "I thought you didn't have time to put together a presentation, but you came prepared with slides and everything!" It makes beautiful presentations easy and focuses on all the right things, just like iA Writer. Essential tool.

This is an excellent application and way of creating a narrative and ensuring that you are complete in your explanations when you present. As an early beta tester and now paid customer, I highly recommend this software and approach to present. I use it and have never had a problem during presentations or during the creation process.

Congratulations on the launch! After using iA Presenter in beta these past few months, I can't imagine going back to another presentation app. Nothing else looks as clean or elegant, nor do they make it as easy to compose and deliver a presentation.

Not sure if I understand. I’m testing iA Presenter, it’s supposed to remove all the format-based approach and keep it text-only-focused. But I see tons of format & design options. If the format & design options are there, but are optional… isn’t it the same as PowerPoint?

It simply changed how I approach my presentations and made things much more easier for me. Being Markdown centric is a major plus for me, fits perfectly into my workflow with iA Writer and Obsidian.
