Hi, congratulation! I am one of the beta users, the app is really well made and the value proposition is strong. I cannot however avoid asking the question about security and investment model. I understand you want to protect your "secret" but even as an early adopter I find your answers too vague. First of all, where are the bitcoins kept? hot or cold storage? are you using any other audited service (e.g. coinbase or xapo) to hold bitcoin? What does "bitcoin denominated index" means? One thing is vangard or ishares ETFs, we all know what they are, how they are built etc. also we all know who the custodian is for apps like wealthfront and betterment, but in Keza case is totally obscure. Some clarifications on this would help. thanks!
@stefanozorzi Absolutely, we're working on adding more to the website to remove vagueness around the questions you asked. We do use Coinbase for part of our infrastructure. Bitcoin denominated index means that the investment components have a return profile of the underlying index where the returns are in bitcoin terms. For example, a trading day where the SP500 is up 2% translates into the bitcoin denominated index being up 2% ie: a 1.00 BTC investment becomes 1.02 BTC.

This sounds awesome! As a Mexican citizen I've been looking at Wealthfront users with envy for a while. One question, though. Do I need to have a bitcoin wallet beforehand or will you guys accept a given currency and convert that into bitcoin for users?
@charlangas Carlos, you do need a bitcoin wallet first to be able to use Keza. I would recommend Bitso in Mexico, although there are a lot of options to try out!
A few months ago I was speaking with @realsimonburns and he was telling me about the concept for Keza (previously Wealthcoin). A Wealthfront type of service through Bitcoin makes perfect sense.
In the developing world people don't have the type of access to banking services that we have here, let along opening a brokerage account. They do use Bitcoin, however. So having a way to invest that money and get a return on the balance is great. And it's great to see Simon and the team going after that type of market that we don't encounter everyday. 👏👏💰📈

Been waiting for something like this. As far as regulations, are you a licensed RIA? Which custodians are you using? Given the nature of anonymity with bitcoin, what type of tax reporting are you doing?
