look, we both know how this goes. you sit down to work. you check one thing. then it's been 40 minutes and you're watching a guy restore a rusty knife on youtube. 〰〰 kiki lives on your mac and helps you actually finish the things you start. choose your focus. pick your apps. hit start. kiki works alongside you, typing away in the corner. 〰〰 get distracted and kiki has opinions. flips your lights. sets things on fire. focus and you might just finish that project you've been avoiding.
Congrats on the launch! Kiki’s “focus or else” vibe plus app-level blocking feels like the perfect mix of accountability and fun for getting deep work done on Mac.

I was lucky to be an early tester of Kiki. I’m also highly distractible and have used A LOT of productivity apps (one might say I’m distracted by them 😃).
What I love about Kiki is the irreverent delight. Lighting my screen on fire when I pop over to check the news even though I have a deadline and need to finish the deck I'm working on? I don't know the psychology of it, but a little laughter when my focus failure is exposed helps me get back on task. I can't wait to see what surprises the Kiki team has in future updates.

I’ve been testing out Kiki for a couple of months and I love it. It makes a lot of other software feel overly serious, but doesn’t fall into the Clippy trap. I find the playfulness also breaks the dogmatism of these kinds of tools and—as someone who works on their own—it’s strangely comforting to watch it working alongside me.
I'm a designer and this has been incredible for long work sessions. Usually I start designing and drift into Slack, inspiration boards.. Kiki just says nope, you picked Figma, stay in Figma!
This is a much needed antidote for easily distracted people! Loving the Kiki mascot and how it makes focus time feel FUN instead of sterile. Really appreciating the new mental model focusing on a single small goal at a time. I'm someone who has tried every tomato themed pomodoro timer under the sun and STILL I find a way to spend the entire time block doing something else. Hoping this little dude in the corner of my screen will help me change how I think about focus work, a little bit at a time!
I've tried a lot of things, most of them involving deleting apps from my phone. Adding blockers on my websites didn't work very well for me because there are websites like Youtube and Linkedin that I do need to use sometimes but if I open to use it for 5 minutes I get sidetracked by their excellent algorithms and find myself watching the 100th rug cleaning video after 2 hours.
For now I use a chrome extention called News Feed Eradicator. This does a good job. Removes the feed, so anything I wanna do there is intentional.
Problem is on Youtube if I open a short related to something I needed to know, I end up going down that spiral.
Excited to see how Kiki helps with that.
