Two powerful houses collide over Greyford’s incomes and legitimacy. You are King Balor—judge, stabilizer, and family member caught in the blast radius. Greyford is not merely a feud. It is a test of kingship. Enter Balor’s hall, hear the claims, weigh the dead against the living, and decide what kind of realm survives your judgment. Issue a decree that is legitimate, enforceable, and politically survivable across dual-heir blood claims—without igniting private war or weakening the Crown.

Built this because most story games reward the “right answer.” Mercurie puts you right in the middle of things.
King Balor — The Dispute of Greyford is a play on historical politics and governance: it tests whether your decision can actually hold a realm together.
You play as newly crowned King Balor, forced to rule on a feud between two major houses. One side has ancestral claim, the other has royal charter, and recent deaths make every choice politically explosive. There’s no perfect ending — only tradeoffs between legitimacy, stability, prosperity, authority, integrity, and execution.
A few things we focused on:
- political realism over fantasy mystery-solving
- pressure from multiple voices with conflicting incentives
- consequences that evaluate how you ruled, not just what you picked
Would love your feedback on:
1) Did the pressure feel real?
2) Did the scoring feel fair?
3) Where did the scenario feel too scripted vs genuinely responsive?
If you try it, share your ruling — I’m curious how different leaders handle Greyford.
