Very useful and pretty inspiring! The color palettes are harmonious, and the detailed information for each shade (RGB, HSL, and WCAG ratings) makes it perfect for both designers and developers

βοΈ Why I Built Komorebi
I was frustrated with how basic the color palette generators are. Most tools spit out generic hex codes with no context or meaning. As a designer, I wanted something that would help me understand why certain colors work together, not just generate random combinations. I also wanted something different.
π What Makes It Unique Komorebi uses meaningful color names instead of generic labels. While other generators give you "Color 1, Color 2, Color 3," we use Sanzo Wada's descriptive nomenclature system with modifiers like:
- "Nibi" (dull) for muted tones - "Azayaka" (vivid) for bright, saturated colors - "Kurai" (dark) for deep shades - "Akarui" (bright) for light variations
This naming system actually teaches you color relationships as you use the tool. You start understanding why certain combinations feel harmonious instead of just copying hex codes. The tool also provides comprehensive export options - PNG, SVG, CSS variables, and detailed color information including accessibility ratings. Everything a designer needs in terms of color, in one place.
πͺ What I'm Most Proud Of I created a professional-grade color tool that's completely free. No subscriptions, no limited exports, no watermarks. Every feature is available to everyone, whether you're a student or running a design agency.
The educational value built into the interface.
Users don't just get palettes, they learn color theory naturally through the naming system and harmony analysis. It makes better designers, not just faster ones.
