Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Lapp around a simple frustration: the tiny actions that break focus—opening an app, doing a quick calculation, finding something I just copied, or starting a web search.
Lapp puts those actions behind Option–Space. Type an app name or prefix, an expression, or cb plus a keyword. Press Return and keep moving.
A few design choices matter to me:
A minimal surface instead of another full workspace
Learned ranking for repeated app searches
A native, keyboard-first macOS experience
Local-first behavior with no account, hosted backend, or analytics
Free and open source under the MIT License
Application indexing, learned preferences, calculator evaluation, and plain-text clipboard history stay on your Mac. A query leaves Lapp only when you choose web search.
Lapp v0.1.0 supports macOS 13+. One transparent caveat: the current DMG is ad-hoc signed and not yet Apple-notarized, so macOS may require the quarantine workaround documented on the product page.
I’d love to hear: does Lapp cover the right minimum, and which small action should it make faster next?
Thanks for checking it out 🚀
