I'm exploring a bunch of uses for STT and TTS (my current one is using TTS to create my own personal podcast based on prompts I send to an agent).
There is a place for "top tier" TTS, sure.
But there's a much bigger one, for me right now, in having an affordable speech API that I know I can afford to play around with.
But that's underselling it. The quality is actually good and (unlike so many speech APIs) .... no weird hurdles getting the API calls to generate ... and a clean binary to work with on the other side.
Loving Lemonfox so far. Voices sound great, the price is right, and the word timings are accurate, which is vital to the app I'm building on top of it.
It's crazy that I can build a Speechify-level iOS app built on top of a highly-available API. Shoutout to Bruno and Ingo for building this.
The service is great, they lack very much in communication. There is no product update, when writing emails 90% they get ignored.
Now I'm having an API outage since nearly 24h and there's no update and no reply.
