Let your AI pick up where you left off

Living Projects is a free plugin that helps your AI pick up where you left off. It saves your project’s notes, decisions, and the reasons behind them as plain-text files in your own Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive. Your AI can bring that saved work together to show what’s settled, what’s open, and what comes next. In a new conversation, it can read the saved context and continue—even when you switch between Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Your files stay yours, in the storage you choose.

Building Living Projects showed me something I didn’t expect about working with AI.
I built it to carry work forward between conversations. Having a readable record also helped me understand what I was carrying forward.
Going back through my projects, I could see what I’d missed, how it happened, and when. I found wording AI had interpreted differently than I intended, instructions from an earlier stage still influencing new conversations, and mistakes in how I’d explained things.
These were months of work. A few projects weren’t usable as they stood.
That was difficult to see. But understanding what had happened helped me stop taking a product further in a direction that wouldn’t work—saving months of future effort.
Communicating and building with AI can be tricky. The record gave me something concrete to learn from. I now have a better understanding of how to explain what I mean, what to ask, and how to check the work.
The benefit of a record goes beyond picking up where you left off. You can go back, understand how you got there, and make a more informed decision about what comes next.
Has anyone else found something like this in their own AI projects?
